KATHMANDU: Thousands of papers and documents of the Ministry of Education are now lying in the Kesarmahal premises. The ministry has scattered its important old documents, reports, bills and other important study reports and books from the Panchayat period in the yard of Kesarmahal.
Some of the important documents rotted when the ministry stored them outside in the Kesarmahal premises, which was damaged by the earthquake and is currently being retrofitted.
Until the earthquake of 2072, Kesarmahal housed the Ministry of Education, the Department of Asset Laundering, the Office of UNESCO, the Ministry’s NOC Branch, and the Scholarship Distribution Branch.
Although the Ministry of Education and its subordinate offices relocated, they left their documents behind. Photocopies of documents such as filled forms for scholarships and NOCs, student personal details, certificates, marksheets, and citizenship have been discarded as useless by the Ministry.
