KATHMANDU: The meeting of the ruling coalition has begun at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar.

The meeting, which was scheduled to begin at 3 p.m., began several hours late.

The meeting was attended by Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, who is also the Prime Minister, senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel, deputy chairperson Purna Bahadur Khadka, and Krishna Sitaula.

Similarly, Maoist Center Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal, General Secretary Dev Gurung, and leader Narayan Kaji Shrestha are all present. Participants include Madhav Kumar Nepal, Chairperson of the CPN (Unified Socialists), General Secretary Beduram Bhusal, and others.

The meeting will reportedly review the alliance’s success/failure in the recently concluded general election, as well as the success and failure of the alliance’s constituent parties and the overall election results.

Similarly, it is expected that a discussion will take place regarding the formation of a new government.

The Nepali Congress is debating whether going to the election as part of an alliance will benefit them more. Similarly, due to alliance infighting, the Maoists and CPN-S are expressing dissatisfaction, claiming that the expected results have not been achieved.
