Toshima resignes from NMC

KATHMANDU: Elected to the House of Representatives (HoR) from Lalitpur Constituency No. 3. Toshima Karki has resigned from the Nepal Medical Council (NMC).

Dr. Krishna Prasad Adhikari, NMC Registrar, stated that Dr. Karki came to the council on Sunday and confirmed her resignation. “Her letter of resignation arrived yesterday” (Sunday). “The letter has been forwarded to the Ministry of Health,” he said.

The Election Commission (EC) rejected her candidacy after receiving a complaint that she ran for office without resigning from her position on the council. However, the Supreme Court overturned the EC’s decision and upheld KC’s candidacy.

She was elected as a member of the HoR from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).
