KATHMANDU: Hira Thokar, Secretary of the CPN-UML Dolakha District Committee, has announced his resignation.

He has announced his intention to resign on moral grounds, citing his failure to get his party’s candidate elected to the Dolakha House of Representatives (HoR).

Secretary Thokar announced his resignation via social media as soon as the final vote-counting results were released.

UML candidate Ganga Karki won by 317 votes over UML candidate Balkrishna Siwakoti. Karki secured 36,799 votes, while his opponent, Siwakoti, secured 36,482 votes.
