KATHMANDU: Bharat Bahadur KC, a CPN-UML candidate, was elected to the Dolakha State Assembly (SA)-2.

KC was elected to the SA after defeating Nepali Congress (NC) district president Barma Lama.

KC secured 19,414 votes, while NC Lama obtained 17,595 votes.

Lama was defeated by KC by a margin of 1,809 votes. In addition, KC is the outgoing mayor of Bhimeshwor Municipality.

Following disagreements in some polling stations in Dolakha during the House of Representatives (HoR) and SA elections held on Nov 20, the Election Commission (EC) re-polled on Dec 1.

Counting of votes of the HoR and SA-1 is still underway.
