KATHMANDU: MetLife Nepal held an Insurance Awareness Walkathon in Lalitpur on Dec 3rd to commemorate its 21st anniversary in Nepal. The walkathon was organized to raise awareness about the importance of insurance in helping Nepalese people live more confident lives.

Over 300 MetLife employees and sales associates took part in the 4.5-kilometer walkathon, where Mr. Dev Kishor Lal, Head of Operations, officially inaugurated the event and addressed the participants, emphasizing the growing need for insurance as more than 60% of the country’s population is uninsured.

MetLife Nepal has come a long way since its inception on Dec 5, 2001, and now provides insurance protection for over one million people. MetLife has paid out over NRS 316 crores in claims and helped over 45,000 employees and sales associates advance in their careers.

Furthermore, MetLife has played an important role in the development of Nepal’s insurance sector by pioneering digitized services, unique insurance solutions, and fostering talent growth through career development opportunities.
