We are not satisfied with the current election law: CEC Thapaliya
Thapaliya also stated that the Election Commission (EC) is preparing to manage the election under the new law during a thanksgiving program hosted by the District Election Office in Kathmandu on Friday.

KATHMANDU: Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya, the Chief Election Commissioner, has stated that he is dissatisfied with the current election law.
Thapaliya also stated that the Election Commission (EC) is preparing to manage the election under the new law during a thanksgiving program hosted by the District Election Office in Kathmandu on Friday.
He stated that laws pertaining to the House of Representatives (HoR) and the State Assembly (SA) will be drafted in the same location. He claimed that, based on previous experience with local elections, a monitoring committee was formed in the current election under the coordination of the Chief Electoral Officer and was found to be effective.
He stated that the current election in Nepal has established a high political culture among the parties and candidates, which he believes should be maintained in the future.
Thapaliya claimed that political parties were weak on the issue of inclusion in the election and that future attention should be paid to the issue of inclusion.
He stated that, despite the EC’s leadership, the election was successfully completed with the assistance of all stakeholders.
