If citizenship issue is not resolved, UML will stage a nationwide protest: Mahaseth (Video)
He claimed that, while the previous UML government attempted to resolve the citizenship issue, the current coalition parties were obstructing it.
KATHMANDU: CPN-UML leader Raghubir Mahaseth has threatened a nationwide protest if the necessary decision on citizenship is not made within three months of the formation of the government.
In a press conference held in Janakpurdham on Friday, Mahaseth warned that millions of citizens would be denied citizenship due to a lack of necessary laws on birthright citizenship, and that they would protest if the new government did not resolve the citizenship issue within three months.
He claimed that, while the previous UML government attempted to resolve the citizenship issue, the current coalition parties were obstructing it.
Similarly, Mahaseth claimed that the Madhesi people made the UML the first party in Madhesh after seeing the work done by the KP Sharma Oli-led government in the past.
Mahaseth accused the coalition government of halting over 1,400 development plans initiated by the UML government previously.
