KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) candidate for House of Representatives (HoR) member from Syangja-2, Dhanraj Gurung, has extended his lead over the CPN-Padma UML’s Aryal.

NC Vice-Chairperson Gurung is 2,171 votes ahead of his nearest rival, UML secretary Padma Kumari Aryal. Aryal had previously trailed by 1,435 votes.

Gurung obtained 14,306 votes, while UML’s Aryal secured 12,135 votes.

Tikaraj Gurung of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) secured 5,876 votes as well.
