Syangja 2: Dhanraj still leading, followed by Padma

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) candidate Dhanraj Gurung is consistently leading in Syangja 2. He is being followed by UML candidate Padma Aryal.

Gurung secured 6,065 votes while UML candidate Aryal secured 4,765 votes.

The difference between Gurung and Aryal is 1,300.

Tikaraj Gurung of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) obtained 1,575 votes.

Counting of votes was halted here for 12 days after CPN-UML demanded a re-voting saying it was rigged.

After the Election Commission (EC) decided not to re-vote, the counting of votes started only on Wednesday night.
