UML secures 2.7 million votes in PR vote count, with NC coming in second

KATHMANDU: Votes cast under proportional representation (PR) in the Nov 20 elections to the House of Representatives and State Assembly are being counted.
According to Election Commission (EC) data up to Wednesday, the CPN UML is leading the vote count.
So far, the party has obtained 2,728,305 votes out of a total of 10,022,273 valid votes cast.
Similarly, the Nepali Congress received 2,596,423 votes, with the CPN (Maoist Centre) receiving 1,154,591.
Similarly, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) secured 1,106,091 votes, the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) secured 580,434, the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) obtained 412,858, the Janamat Party secured 381,434, the CPN (Unified Socialist) secured 291,158, and the Nagarik Unmukti Party secured 268,436.
In State 1, the CPN UML secured 629,885 votes, followed by the NC with 529,896.
Similarly, the Rastriya Prajatantra Party received 190,604 votes, while the CPN (Maoist Centre) secured 177,261.
In Madhesh State, the NC secured 386,293 votes, CPN UML secured 343,728, Janamant Party secured 307,350 votes, JSP secured 287,846, CPN (Maoist Centre) secured 178,936, CPN (Unified Socialist) secured 112,264 votes, and Loktantrik Samajbadi Party Nepal (LSP) secured 110,852 votes.
Likewise, in Bagmati State, the CPN UML secured 554,100 votes, the NC secured 463,138 votes, the CPN (Maoist Centre) secured 269,215 votes, and the RPP secured 266,524.
The CPN UML leads the vote count in Gandaki State with 340,533 votes, followed by NC with 317,596.
The CPN (Maoist Centre) has secured 115,366 votes. The CPN UML secured 570,921 votes in Lumbini secured, while the NC secured 499,986, the CPN (Maoist Centre) secured 198,450 votes, the RPP secured 127,452, and the Nagarik Unmukti Party secured 125,521. In Karnali State, the CPN UML has 183,950 votes, followed by the NC, which has 170,756 votes.
CPN (Maoist Centre) secured 137,629 votes. In Sudurpaschim State, the CPN UML secured 248,840 votes, the NC secured 243,029 votes, and the CPN (Maoist Centre) secured 198,903 votes.
