KATHMANDU: The Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ) has informed that the former chairperson of the FNJ, Kishor Nepal, has had all social media channels and Ncell number blocked.

According to the statement of the Federation, ‘According to the former chairperson Nepal, his Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, email and phone have been closed successively since a month and a half ago. It is a very sad aspect that despite giving written information about this to the Cyber Bureau of the Police, the lack of attention to the solution is not shown.’
According to the federation, this action was taken with the intention of depriving Nepali journalists who have contributed to the field of journalism for the past five decades of all social media access.
“The federation demands that the government investigate the incident and immediately identify those involved in the act of violating free expression and bring them within the legal framework to respect the freedom of expression guaranteed by the constitution,” the statement said.
