England advance to World Cup last 16 after defeating Wales

KATHMANDU: Wales, who returned to the World Cup after 64 years, have been eliminated from the group stage. They had to leave Qatar when they lost 3-0 to England.

Wales drew 1-1 with the USA in the first match of Group B, splitting the points. The previous tour ended in disaster when they were defeated 2-0 by Iran in the second match.
