Netherlands beats host Qatar 2-0 to reach World Cup knockouts

KATHMANDU: The Netherlands has entered the last 16 of the World Cup.
On Tuesday night, they defeated Qatar 2-0 and entered the knockout stage as the winners of Group A. Now they will face the runner-up of Group B in the last 16.
Cody Gakpo and Frenkie de Jong scored in the Netherlands’ victory. The Netherlands took the lead in the 26th minute of the game with Gakpo’s goal. When De Jong doubled the lead in the 49th minute, they won easily over the home team.
Earlier, they defeated Senegal 2-0 in the first match. A 1-1 draw was played against Ecuador. Host Qatar has lost all the matches.
