KATHMANDU: Balen Shah, Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, and Deputy Mayor Sunita Dangol arrived at Norvic Hospital on Monday evening.
Mayor Shah and Deputy Mayor Dangol visited Norvic at different times to learn about the health of the metropolitan police officers who were injured and receiving treatment during the clash during the demolition of Thapathali’s squatters settlement houses.
Initially, Balendra Shah, who reached around 7:40 in the evening, took a briefing with the doctor about the condition of the wounded being treated there. Meanwhile, Norvic Hospital’s emergency in-charge and deputy medical director Dr. Omar Pradhan said that 3 of the injured were kept under observation due to severe head injuries.
Balen inquired with Dr. Pradhan about Norvic’s ability to treat 34 injured people in a short period of time. He stated that the main feature of Norvic’s emergency is the proper management of injured and sick people in emergency situations; according to the injured’s condition, they are placed in the red, green, and yellow zones, and the corresponding treatment is given on a priority basis. He stated that it occurred.
Mayor Shah also discussed the health of his three city police officers and their families, who are being treated in Norvic for serious injuries.
Mayor Shah returned to the hospital after about 3 minutes.
Shortly after his return, Deputy Mayor Sunita Dangol also reached the hospital.
She was also aware of the health status of the city police. She openly praised Norvic’s treatment method and efficient emergency management at the time.
