Cameroon and Serbia tied in a 6-goal thriller

KATHMANDU: Cameroon and Serbia shared the spoils in a six-goal thriller, arguably the most exciting game of the World Cup in Qatar so far.

Cameroon’s Jean-Charles Castelletto scored in the 29th minute after Serb Aleksandr Mitrovic hit the post early in the game.

Two quick goals from Strahinja Pavlovic and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic just before half-time saw Serbia lead into halftime.

Cameroon recovered from a 3-1 deficit to draw 3-3 with Serbia in Monday’s pulsating World Cup 2022 contest in Group G.

Serbia appeared to be in cruise control after Mitrovic added a third goal in the 53rd minute.

Cameroon staged a second-half comeback after newly introduced Vincent Aboubakar scored an outrageous lob in the 64th minute that was initially ruled offside until VAR intervened.

Aboubakar drove down the right and passed it to Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, who equalized two minutes later.
