Body of Bajura student leader Aydi to be picked up today

KATHMANDU: Bajura student leader Chetandeep Aydi’s body will be picked up on Monday.

After nine days, the body of Ayadi, the central member of ANNFSU, will be picked up today.

The body of Aydi, who was said to have been killed by Nepali Congress activists after the election of the House of Representatives and the State Assembly on Nov 20, will now be placed in the Khulla Manch for paying homage at 9 a.m., according to Bharat Thapa, secretary of the CPN-UML Bajura. His body will then be cremated, according to reports.

According to reports, on the day of the election, Congress activists dragged Aydi from his home and beat him up. He was injured in the beating and was taken to Byalpata Hospital in Achham for treatment, where he was pronounced dead by the doctor.

Chetan’s body was brought from Bayalpata Hospital to District Hospital Bajura for autopsy. Since Nov 21, the CPN-UML Bajura has been protesting in Bajura, demanding that Chetan’s murderers be brought to justice.

After a tense situation arose at the polling station of Nateshwari Basic School in Triveni Municipality-7, security personnel opened fire.

Sanjiv Ayydi of Triveni-7 died as a result of a bullet fired by security personnel. He was cremated last Friday.
