Re-election in 10 polling stations of Dolakha

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has decided to re-vote in 10 Dolakha polling stations.

Previously, after receiving a complaint about rigging, the EC formed an on-site investigation team led by Joint Secretary Yagya Prasad Bhattarai.

The team had submitted a report in which they concluded that another election should be held. By canceling the previous vote, the commission requested that the vote be held.

Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari informed the meeting held on Sunday that re-voting will take place in 10 polling stations by Dec 1. The EC has also directed the Chief Electoral Officer’s office in Dolakha to conduct re-election voting.

According to the commission, A, B, C of Bateshwar Secondary School polling station of Bateshwar Rural Municipality-6, A and B of Janjyoti Secondary School of Putli Kath of Ward No. 2, Tamakoshi Rural Municipality-3 Health Post Buildings A and B, Ward No. 3 Kalidhunga Secondary School A, B, C will be voting.

The EC has stated that voting will not take place in other polling stations.
