KATHMANDU: The Madhesh state government has declared a public holiday on Nov 28 (tomorrow) to commemorate Sitaram Bibaha Panchami.

Chief Minister Lalbabu Raut extended his best wishes to the devotees who will visit Janakpurdham on the occasion of Bibaha Panchami and declared tomorrow a public holiday.

This year, as in previous years, a week-long Bibaha Panchami fair is being held in Janakpurdham to commemorate the marriage of Mata Sita and Lord Shri Ram in the Treta Yuga. Mata Sita’s matkor (excavated soil) ceremony will take place on Sunday as part of the Bibaha Panchami festival.

Sita’s Matkor will be performed at the historic Ganga Sagar Pond on Sunday.

The Swyamvara (marriage ceremony) of Sita and Ram will take place tomorrow in the Janaki temple grounds.

Lakhs of devotees from Nepal and India will attend the wedding, which will provide a glimpse of the Treta Yuga.
