KATHMANDU: The direct counting of votes in the House of Representatives has been halted in Udayapur.
The counting of votes was halted, according to Chief Electoral Officer Krishna Prasad Subedi, when the ballot papers for the State Assembly were discovered in the box containing the ballot papers for the House of Representatives.
According to him, an all-party meeting was held. He stated that the counting of votes would resume following the conclusion of the meeting.
Nepali Congress candidate Narayan Khadka is ahead with 21,833 votes in Udayapur Constituency No. 1, while UML’s candidate Manju Kumari Chaudhary is trailing with 20,120 votes.
