KATHMANDU: Bhim Acharya, a CPN-UML candidate, was elected to the House of Representatives from Sunsari Constituency No. 2.

He secured 32,008 votes, defeating his nearest rival, Nepali Congress’ Sitaram Mahato.

Mahat of the NC secured 26,058 votes.

Similarly, Lal Bikram Thapa of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) obtained 19,386 votes.

Bhim Acharya of the UML has been elected from Sunsari in every election since 2064.
