Kailali launches 16-day Activism against Gender-Based Violence

TIKAPUR: The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence has kicked off in Kailali, the district in the Sudurpaschim State.
Under the global campaign aims to prevent and eliminate violence against women and girls ( VAWG), all the local levels in the district have scheduled various events such as local-level discussions, gatherings, orientation, street drama, school-level sports competition, oratory and essay writing competition on the topic so as to increase public awareness against the VAWG.

The deputy mayor believes that VAW cases are perennial in the society and they must be prevented and eliminated.
The United Nations annual international campaign kicks off on Nov 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and concludes on December 10, the international Human Rights Day.
