Madhesh State: Results of 22 seats of HoR announced

According to the results announced by the Election Commission till 5:30 pm today, the CPN (UML) has won six seats.

KATHMANDU: The results of 22 out of 32 House of Representatives (HoR) constituencies in eight districts in Madhesh State have been announced. The results of ten representative assembly constituencies from various districts in the state are still pending.

According to the results announced by the Election Commission (EC) till 5:30 pm today, the CPN (UML) has won six seats.

Similarly, Nepali Congress won five seats, Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) four seats, LSP two seats, CPN (Unified Socialist) one seat, Janamat Party one seat and Independent Party three seats. UML candidates have been elected in six seats.

Ram Shankar Yadav was elected in Siraha-1, Julie Mahato (Mahaseth) in Dhanusha-3, Hari Prasad Upreti in Sarlahi-3, Achyut Prasad Mainali in Bara-1, Raj Kumar Gupta in Parsa-3 and Lilanath Shrestha in Siraha-3.

Similarly, Nepali Congress candidate Dinesh Kumar Yadav has been elected in Saptari-3, Ram Krishna Yadav in Dhanusha-2, Dev Prasad Timalsina in Rautahat-4, Ajay Kumar Chaurasiya in Parsa-2 and Ramesh Rijal in Parsa-4. Congress candidate is ahead in Saptari-4, Dhanusha-4 and Mahottari-4.

Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) candidate Nawal Kishore Sah has been elected in Saptari-1, Dr Birendra Prasad Mahato in Sirha-4, Birendra Prasad Mahato in Sirha-4 and Pradeep Yadav in Parsa-1. JSP candidates are ahead in Siraha-2 and Dhanusha-1.

Candidates of CPN (Maoist Center) are ahead in three positions namely Mahottari-1, Sarlahi-2 and Bara-2. Loktantrik Samajbadi Party (LSP) candidate Sharad Singh Bhandari has been elected in Mahottari-2 and Ram Prakash Chaudhary in Sarlahi-1. In Mahottari-3 LSP Chairperson Mahant Thakur is ahead.

Chairman of CPN (Unified Socialist) Madhav Kumar Nepal has won from Rautahat-1. Krishna Kumar Shrestha is ahead in Bara-4. Janamat Party President Dr. CK Raut has been elected from Saptari-2. Similarly, among the independent candidates, Amresh Kumar Singh has won in Sarlahi-4, Kiran Kumar Shah in Rautahat-2 and Prabhu Shah in Rautahat-3.

According to the statistics of the Election Commission, 1,598 candidates have entered the election competition for the HoR and State Assembly members in eight districts of Madhesh State. For the 32 seats in the HoR, there are 590 candidates, 293 from different parties and 297 from independent parties.
