Ilam 1: Mahesh ahead of Jhala Nath by 2,024 votes

KATHMANDU: Mahesh Basnet, the CPN-UML candidate in Ilam Constituency No. 1, has maintained his lead.

Jhala Nath Khanal, respected leader of CPN (United Socialist Party) and former Prime Minister, is following Basnet.

Basnet has maintained a 1,642 vote lead.

Basnet secured 13,746 votes, while Khanal secured 11,712 votes. Their vote margin is 2,024.

In the Constituency 1 House of Representatives, 59,136 votes were cast out of a total of 109,535 voters.
