KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress central member Bhim Parajuli has been elected as a member of the State Assembly (SA). Parajuli defeated former Social Development Minister Jeevan Ghimire, leader of UML.

While Parajuli got 11,479 votes, Ghimire secured only 9,611 votes.

Parajuli said that after being elected, Biratnagar will be developed. Parajuli, who was the mayor of Biratnagar in the 2074 election, made a big tussle for the ticket to repeat himself as the mayor.

After that, he applied for a ticket for the constituency no. 4 of the House of Representatives, but after he did not get through, he ran for the state assembly. In the meeting of the Central Committee of the Nepali Congress, Parajuli announced the cancellation of the state structure and his statement in favor of the Hindu nation.
