Oli & Prachanda conversed on phone, congratulated each other
Oli called Prachanda on Thursday to congratulate him on his victory in the House of Representatives election.
KATHMANDU: There was a phone conversation between CPN UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli and CPN Maoist Center Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’. Rajan Kafle, Chairperson Oli’s press adviser, confirmed that the two chairpersons spoke on the phone.
Oli called Prachanda on Thursday to congratulate him on his victory in the House of Representatives election. Likewise, Prachanda congratulated Oli.
The Maoist Center entered the election competition in alliance with 5 parties including the Nepali Congress.
However, as the Maoist Center was unable to achieve the expected victory in the election, talks between the two presidents have begun, sparking speculation that the Maoist Center may once again collaborate with the CPN-UML to form the government.
Similarly, the UML, which campaigned alongside the RPP under the election slogan “Mangsi 4, Oli Sarkar,” is seen that the results are not as expected.
It is understood that Chairperson Oli is adaptable, even if forming a government against this backdrop is difficult.
This is the first time the two leaders have spoken since the former Nepal Communist Party (NCP) split.
