RPP’s Deepak Singh won by defeating Kamal Thapa & Dina

KATHMANDU: Deepak Bahadur Singh of the RPP won the Makwanpur Constituency No. 1 election.

Singh won by defeating Nepali Congress candidate Mahalaxmi Upadhyaya (Dina) and CPN-UML candidate Kamal Thapa from the power alliance.

Singh secured 27,816 votes. Dina secured 25,434 votes whereas Kamal Thapa secured 25,420 votes.

Singh won by a margin of 2,396 votes. Singh, who had previously lost four consecutive elections, triumphed in his fifth attempt.
