He garnered 29,040 votes as the Nepali Congress’s joint general secretary.
Kismat Kumar Kashypati, a CPN-UML candidate, garnered 24,247 votes.
Devendra Nath Shukla, the candidate of Rastriya Swatantra Party, declare third by securing 7,439 votes.
