Toshima elected from Lalitpur-3, Minister Bhusal third

A 33-year-old Karki won by defeating Amrit Bhattarai of CPN-UML and Pampha Bhusal of CPN-Maoist Center with a wide margin of votes.

KATHMANDU: Dr. Tohsima Karki of the National Independent Party has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Lalitpur Constituency No. 3.

A 33-year-old Karki won by defeating Amrit Bhattarai of CPN-UML and Pampha Bhusal of CPN-Maoist Center with a wide margin of votes.

According to the published final vote results, Toshima secured  31,136 votes.

The closest competitor, Amrit Khadka of CPN-UML secured 12,963 votes.

Maoist Deputy General Secretary Pampha Bhusal, who is also the Energy Minister, secured only 8,769 votes.

Earlier in the 2074 election, Bhusal had won the election from this constituency.
