Parsa-1: JSP’s Pradeep Yadav triumphs

KATHMANDU: Pradeep Yadav of Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) has won in Parsa Constituency No. 1. He was re-elected from this constituency.
He was elected after defeating Nepali Congress rebel candidate Ajay Kumar Dwivedi. Yadav, a former Forest and Environment Minister, was backed by the CPN-UML.
He has 1,620 votes more than Dwivedi. Yadav received 22,537 votes, while Dwivedi received 20,917 votes.
RPP’s Kiranman Dangol was third with 2,651 votes, while the ruling coalition’s common candidate, Democratic Socialist LSP leader Laxman Lal Karna, secured only 1,117 votes.
In 2074, Karna won from Parsa Constituency No. 4.
Yadav secured 21,132 votes and was elected to the House of Representatives in the 2074 election.
His Congress opponent, Anil Kumar Rungata, secured only 16,481 votes.
