KATHMANDU: Ekraj Karki, a CPN-UML candidate, was elected to the State Assembly from Jhapa Constituency No. 2.
He defeated CPN (United Socialists) candidate Pushparaj Pokharel of the ruling coalition by a margin of 12,630 votes.
Karki, who is affiliated with the RPP, secured 18,731 votes, while Pokharel received 6,101 votes.
