NC 42, UML 38, Maoists 14 & RSP ahead in 11 places, UML’s lead towards proportionality

KATHMANDU: The counting of votes for Sunday’s House of Representatives and State Assembly member elections is still ongoing.
According to the Election Commission, counting of votes in 135 out of 165 constituencies is going on till 12:15 noon today.
So far, three Nepali Congress candidates have won. Gagan Kumar Thapa of the Congress Party won Kathmandu Constituency No. 4, Tek Bahadur Gurung of the Manang Constituency No. 1, and Yogesh Gauchan Thakali of the Mustang Constituency No. 1.
In the current vote count, the Nepali Congress is ahead in 42 places. CPN UML has 38 seats, CPN Maoist Center has 14, Rastriya Swatantra Party has 11, Rastriya Prajatantra Party has 5, and other parties and candidates have 5 seats.
UML ahead towards proportionality
UML is ahead in the calculation for proportionality. So far, the UML has secured 76,323 votes, Congress 65,792 votes, Rastriya Swatantra Party 33,337 votes, Maoist Center 29,651 votes, and Rastriya Prajatantra Party 19,444 votes.
The JSP secured 5,833 votes, the Janamat Party secured 5,455 votes, the Nepal Workers’ and Peasants’ Party secured 4,438 votes, the Nagarik Unmukti Party secured 3,538 votes, and the CPN (Unified Socialist) secured 3,460 votes.
