KATHMANDU: Krishna Gopal Shrestha of the CPN-UML came close to winning in Kathmandu 9.
Shrestha secured 10,000 votes, while his nearest competitor, Tek Bahadur Pokharel of the National Independent Party, secured 8,725 votes.
The ruling coalition’s candidate, Kalpana Dhamala of the CPN-Maoist Center, is third with 5,000,279 votes.
Devendra Pradhan of the RPP is in fourth place with 3,561 votes, while Milan Pandey of the Sajha Party is in fifth place with 1,850 votes.
