KATHMANDU: Pradeep Paudel, a candidate for the post of member of the House of Representatives for the Nepali Congress, has maintained his lead in Kathmandu Constituency No. 5.

When 18,797 votes were counted, youth leader Poudel secured 6,181 votes, while Ishwar Pokharel, a candidate from CPN (UML), received 4,365 votes, according to Kamal Kant Joshi, spokesperson of Constituency No. 5 Election Office.
45,997 votes were cast in this constituency where there are a total of 70,909 voters. A total of 29 candidates including 15 party and 14 independent candidates are competing in Kathmandu Constituency No. 5.
