England faces Iran in an attempt to end a 56-year title drought

KATHMANDU: England, a World Cup contender, plays Iran on Monday. England is looking to end a 56-year title drought in Qatar. The first match of the group stage will begin at 6:45 PM against Iran.

Premier League players in top form will face Iran. England, led by Golden Boot winner Harry Kane, will face a relatively weak opposition.

England is ranked 5th and Iran is ranked 20th in FIFA rankings.

England won the World Cup for the first time in 1966, when they hosted it. The victory has not been repeated since then.

Iran in the World Cup for the third time in a row
