KATHMANDU: The counting of votes for the House of Representatives and State Assembly elections held on Sunday in Dadeldhura, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba’s home district, has begun.

The counting of votes began today at 3.30 p.m. The office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Dadeldhura District Court Building, Amargadhi Municipality-5, is counting votes.

The district got 56.64 percent of the votes cast.

According to Chief Electoral Officer Bal Krishna Wagle, 51,660 votes were cast in the district out of a total of 91,201 voters.

The district has two state assembly constituencies as well as a representative assembly constituency.

Eight candidates are running for one seat in the House of Representatives, including the President of the Nepali Congress and Prime Minister Deuba.
