RPP maintains its lead in Bhaktapur 1 & Congress in 2

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress maintains its lead in the counting of votes in Bhaktapur Constituency No. 2.

The Congress maintained its lead over the CPN (UML) candidate in the House of Representatives after counting 10,000 votes at the Nepal Agricultural Development Bank training center in Bode, Madhyapur Thimi Municipality.

The candidate of the alliance, District Chairperson of Congress, Durlav Thapa, secured 4,113 votes, leading Mahesh Basnet of UML by a margin of 432 votes. While UML got 3,681 votes, Rastriya Swatantra Party (National Independent Party) got 870 votes, Rastriyata Prajatantra Party got 450 votes and Nepal Workers’ and Peasants’ Party secured 450 votes. Counting continues. The counting of votes for the state assembly and proportional has also started.

Similarly, RPP candidate Bharat Bahadur Khadka has taken the early lead in Bhaktapur Constituency No. 1. He has taken the lead during the counting of votes in Ward No. 1 of Changunarayan Municipality. While 1,311 votes were counted in this constituency, Khadka secured 359 votes, Nawaraj Gelal of UML secured 356 votes, Prem Suwal of Nepal Workers’ and Peasants’ Party secured 292 votes and Sunil Gothe of Maoist Center secured 202 votes.
