NC got off to a strong start in Mustang, with 29-year-old Yogesh elected as party’s youngest member

POKHARA: Nepali Congress (NC) candidate Yogesh Gauchan was elected in Mustang. He has confirmed his trip to Parliament as a member of the House of Representatives, defeating UML’s Prem Tulachan.

Prem Prasad Tulachan, a NC leader, rose from the UML and defeated NC leader Romi Gauchan in the 2074 elections in Mustang, which had been ruled by NC for a long time.

Yogesh is Romi’s son.

Yogesh secured 3,992 votes, while Tulachan secured 3,78 votes.

7,230 votes were cast in Mustang. With more votes in 074, UML won all three Mustang seats.
