Approximately 61 percent of votes were cast: EC

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission’s office reported that 61 percent of votes were cast in the House of Representatives and State Assembly elections held on Sunday.

Dinesh Thapaliya, Chief Election Commissioner, stated that voting was peaceful across the country and that, according to preliminary results, 61 percent of votes were cast.

However, he informed that it is less than expected.

Furthermore, Thapaliya stated that the election will be held on Nov 22 in places where it could not be held today.

He expressed hope that a percentage could be added once all of the details were collected.
