Ballot box catches fire in Bajura

BAJURA: A ballot box catches fire in the center of Bhagwati Basic School (A) in Bajura Swamikartik Rural Municipality.

Voting was temporarily halted on Sunday after a fire broke out in a ballot box during proportional voting in the state assembly during the nationwide voting.

Prakash Chandra Adhikari, the Chief District Officer of Bajura, stated that the cause of the fire was not revealed. ‘The ballot box has minor damage, the ballot paper has no damage, but it is wet,’ he said.

According to officials, the fire was put out by pouring water on it.
