KATHMANDU: Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya, the Chief Election Commissioner, has predicted that more than 70% of votes will be cast in the House of Representatives and State Assembly elections.

Speaking to the media after voting at the Lokanthali polling station in Bhaktapur, he predicted that more than 70% of the votes would be cast because of the public’s enthusiasm for the election.

He also urged voters to vote wisely, noting that voting had already begun throughout the country.

He encouraged all voters to cast ballots. Thapaliya stated that the election is being watched from across the country. He believes that no flaws have been allowed in the security and administrative arrangements so far, and that the elections will be held peacefully.
