KATHMANDU: Voting for House of Representatives and State Assembly members can be done using any of five other types of government identification cards instead of the voter ID card issued by the Election Commission (EC).

Copies of the commission’s voter ID card, certificate of Nepalese citizenship, national identity card, copy of land ownership certificate, passport, and driver’s license are required for voting, according to the commission.

Voters whose names appear on the final voter list can vote by bringing a copy of their identity card to the polling station on election day. On Sunday, members of the House of Representatives and the State Assembly will be elected in a single phase.
