KATHMANDU: The government will implement a zero-tolerance policy toward violent attempts to disrupt the elections.

The Ministry of Home Affairs held a press conference on Friday to provide this information.

While preparations for the elections are underway, all parties are prepared to conduct the elections peacefully; however, some parties have recently been involved in violent activities; the ministry stated that those involved in such activities will be arrested immediately and action will be taken.

According to the government, all types of security mechanisms are being mobilized and closely monitored in order to control the elements that disrupt the election and make it a peaceful success.

The Nepali Army’s bomb disposal teams have also been mobilized at 933 locations, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs.

According to the Nepali Army, additional tanks can be sent based on the need.
