44 people arrested for online live betting at TU ground

KATHMANDU: Fourty-Four Indian nationals were arrested from the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur for betting on Nepal’s ODI match against the UAE.

According to Central Bureau of Investigation (CIB) spokesperson Kamal Thapa, they were kept under surveillance beginning with the first match between Nepal and the UAE.

They were found betting live at the TU stadium.

According to Thapa, the investigation into those arrested is currently underway, and those found innocent will be released. The final ODI series match between Nepal and the UAE is currently underway in Kirtipur.
