POKHARA: The direct and proportional counting of all three Kaski constituencies is expected to be completed within seven days. According to Chief Electoral Officer Prakash Kharel, direct counting will be completed in three days and proportional counting in four days.

Voters have to walk for two hours to Kaski to vote. ‘Given the geography and severity of the situation, it could take up to two hours.’ ‘While walking, it appears that the polling place is a little far away,’ he explained, ‘but we have not designated the polling place, which is very sad. Payak is at the right place at the right time.’ He stated that all election preparations had been completed. The voting materials have been delivered to the work area by the employees.

All of Kaski’s ballot boxes will be collected within 6 hours of the polls closing. ‘We are prepared. Security services are on high alert. “There is good coordination among all the mechanisms,” said Chief District Officer Tek Bahadur KC, adding that “there is no possibility of any untoward incident in the district.” We have made peace and security very agile and effective here.’ He believes that the rivalry between the parties is healthy.

There are 344 polling stations in Kaski. Each polling station has 8 staff and 3 volunteers. Humnath Parajuli, the head of the Election Office, stated that 2,752 employees have been deployed throughout the district for the election. He stated that the majority of the polling stations in the district have been made as accessible to the disabled as possible. Women will operate the Pokhara 6 Bashundhara Park community building polling station.

The entire staff, volunteers, and security system are all female. ‘This is our district’s model polling station,’ says Parajuli, ‘and we’ve made all of the polling stations accessible to the disabled.’ However, due to geographical constraints, the polling stations in the villages could not be made handicap accessible. ‘However, we did our best.’ He predicted that the number of votes cast by people with disabilities would be lower than in previous elections.
