KATHMANDU: In Panchthar District, where there are two State Assembly constituencies, there will be a contest between Indra Bahadur Angbo, Minister of Economic Affairs and Planning of State No. 1, and Aindra Sundar Nemwang, Central Member of the CPN-UML in State ‘B.’ The Maoist center’s Angbo has been mentioned as a possible candidate for the ruling coalition.

He claims that the people support him as he did a good job in the development and construction of the district during his four years in the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning.

‘I am good with the people in my area,’ he says. UML friends are also likely to vote for me. In this regard, our alliance has grown even stronger. I intend to win the state election with twice as many votes as UML. People are delighted to see my work. Everyone wants to see me in the chief minister’s office. When I go door-to-door, they tell me, ‘You should be the Chief Minister of the state, and I have a chance, too.’ ‘We are confident about the number of alliances based on mathematics,’ he says. There is no doubt that the alliance’s supporters will triumph in our district. The alliance won all of the seats in the local elections. Based on this calculation, our vote is worth twice as much as UML’s.

There are 64,884 voters in this constituency. Phidim Municipality includes the 5, 6, and 9 wards, as well as Miklajung, Tumbewa, Kummayak, and Phalgunanda Rural Municipalities. In State ‘B,’ eight candidates have entered the race, including Angbo and Nemwang. However, Nemwang and Angbo appear to be the main competitors. Nemwang, on the other hand, claims that because he is a UML candidate, the people will vote for him this time.
