Main competition between alliance & UML in Surkhet, such is the situation in district
The CPN Maoist Center, which had previously allied with the CPN-UML, has entered the 2074 election in alliance with the Nepali Congress. CPN-UML, on the other hand, is struggling to preserve its legacy.
SURKHET: The entire country, including Karnali, has been focused on the election of the House of Representatives and the State Assembly, which will take place on Nov 20 in Surkhet, the capital of Karnali State. In this district, which has two House of Representatives seats and four State Assembly seats, the ruling coalition and the CPN-UML are the main contenders.

The time for campaigning for the candidates also ends tonight at 12 p.m., so it appears that the candidates are struggling to ask for votes in their favor. According to the results of the local level elections held last Baisakh (April/May), the ruling coalition in Surkhet appears to be in the lead.
However, candidates are unlikely to win easily in this election. There is no reason to believe that the same outcome will occur in the elections as a result of the growing resentment of the old parties and the attraction to the youth. Although the transfer vote of newly added voters is the decisive vote.
Such is the election competition in Surkhet Constituency No. 1
Many people are now interested in Surkhet Constituency No. 1 such and electoral competition . The reason is that it seems that there will be a heavyweight competition between the Deputy Chairperson of the Congress Poorna Bahadur Khadka and the leader of the UML, Dhurba Kumar Shahi. Thus, Khadka is also at stake to take revenge for the defeat of 2074. UML leader Shahi wants to continue the winning journey. Khadka’s undefeated journey since 2048 was stopped by Shahi in the election of 2074 with a margin of almost 3 thousand votes under the guise of an alliance with the Maoists. This time, as the situation is opposite to UML, it is not easy for Shahi to continue his winning journey. If half of the votes for the ward chairman in the local level elections are to be considered, the ruling coalition is ahead. However, there is no situation where local election votes can be considered as the basis.
Such is the election competition in Surkhet Constituency No. 2
In Surkhet’s Constituency No. 2, there are also candidates of ruling coalition and CPN-UML in the main competition. Congress’s Hridayram Thani and CPN-UML’s Amrit BC, who is also a former cooperative minister, are in the electoral competition in this region. Thani, who was defeated by UML leader Nawaraj Rawat in the 2074 election, will be challenged by BC this time. In this area, if the votes of the local level elections are to be considered as the basis, the ruling coalition seems to be ahead. However, it is not possible to assess based on this. As the internal balance in ticket distribution could not be arranged within the party, the Nepali Congress lost some areas despite the alliance. As there is some balance in the distribution of tickets this time, the possibility of such a situation is less. On the other hand, CPN-UML candidates are in the stake of getting the votes of new voters and transferring votes by maintaining the party’s votes.
Since the end of the election campaign has come, what will be the result of the election here? Although it is not easy to assess, since most of the candidates are old, it seems that the decision will be made by the generation that is looking for a new face.
