Buddha Air’s 72-seater aircraft to begin Surkhet-Kathmandu flights from December
Buddha Air's ATR 72 aircraft made a test landing from Surkhet Airport on Wednesday with the assistance and cooperation of the Civil Aviation Authority.
KATHMANDU: The 72-seat Buddha Air aircraft will begin regular flights from Paush (Dec-Jan) to Surkhet-Kathmandu. Buddha Air on Wednesday issued a press release with this information. The rental rate will be $7,500, according to the company.
Buddha Air’s ATR 72 aircraft made a test landing from Surkhet Airport on Wednesday with the assistance and cooperation of the Civil Aviation Authority. Buddha Air’s ATR 72 aircraft also landed successfully on Wednesday. Furthermore, Buddha Air has announced that two more ATR 72 aircraft will be brought by December.
For a long time, 18-seater and 47-seater Buddha planes flew regularly from Surkhet Airport.
However, as the fare is expensive, locals have demanded that it be reduced or that a 72-seater ship be operated.
Due to the high fares from Surkhet Airport, most Karnali residents, including those from Surkhet, were forced to fly from Nepalgunj.
Surkhet Chamber of Commerce and Industry has long been concerned about whether a 72-seater aircraft should be flown in Surkhet or the fare should be reduced in this regard.
