POKHARA: Kumar Khadka, the Physical Infrastructure Development Minister of Gandaki State, has been fired for his role in the defeat of the party’s official candidate.

On Tuesday, Chief Minister Krishna Chandra Nepali Pokharel fired him as a minister. According to sources, Minister Khadka allegedly played a role in the defeat of Bindu Kumar Thapa, a candidate from Kaski 2 (B).

‘They have contacted the consumer committees and instructed them not to vote for Bindu.’ ‘Khadka was relieved of his responsibility by the Chief Minister following a call from party president Sher Bahadur Deuba,’ according to a source.

Khadka was sworn in as a non-departmental minister alongside the chief minister when the new government was formed. After he chose the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure, the Maoists took over the Ministry of Finance. He is regarded as a powerful minister in Gandaki. Even during the distribution of tickets, he held a group meeting and asked for tickets, claiming that he would become Chief Minister.

“If Sher Bahadur gives me a ticket so that I don’t become the Chief Minister, I will tear and throw the ticket away,” he said at that time, “I am getting a ticket to become the Chief Minister.”

In the previous election year 2074, he rose through the Kshatriya community’s politics and became a proportional member of parliament by merging the then Akhanda Nepal Party with the Congress. When attempting to learn about the minister’s dismissal, he did not pick up the phone.

Following Khadka’s dismissal, Chief Minister Nepali has also taken on the role of Minister of Physical Infrastructure. The state chief, Prithvi Man Gurung, has changed the ministers’ responsibilities on the Chief Minister’s recommendation.
