BIRATNAGAR: As the upcoming House of Representatives and State Assembly elections approach, the mood is shifting in favor of Dr. Shekhar Koirala, the Left Democratic Alliance’s candidate in Morang-6.

Various people who have announced their independent candidature are also expressing their support for Dr. Koirala. There is a groundswell of support for Koirala. Narayan Paswan, a Bahujan Shakti Party candidate, announced a few days ago that he would withdraw his candidacy to support Koirala.

Paswan is now actively involved in Koirala’s election campaign. Along with Paswan, other Bahujan Shakti Party leaders and workers are supporting Koirala’s election campaign.

Sushil Khadka, who ran as an independent candidate for youth, has also declared his candidacy. Khadka announced his intention to assist Koirala in a brief program held at his residence on Tuesday morning.

He has done social work as well as political awareness by forming an independent youth group. Youth power management, determination of 300,000 hectares of agricultural land, equal development of the Koshi highway west of Biratnagar, with the condition of raising the national agenda Khadka stated that he backed Koirala.

He stated that Koirala declared his candidacy because he was serious about the agenda he raised. “I would like to inform everyone that I am supporting Dr. Shekhar Koirala, who is capable of playing an interventionist role in national politics and can strongly raise the issue of the youth in the parliament,” Khadka said in a press release, “and I have announced my candidacy from today.” More than 150 young people are directly involved in Khadka’s group.
